As a teacher I shaped a structured classroom with the necessary routines and schedules but I highly promoted creativity and self-expression from my students. Taking the ho hum trail was always frowned upon. I was crazy about it when my students succeeded in fulfilling the curriculum requirements while doing so in ridiculously innovative ways. I loved the balance of structure and silliness! That’s how I view my craft. I apply the structure of well made pieces with the silliness of its theme.
